Synopsis:

Lorna Belling, desperate to escape the marriage from hell, falls for the charms of another man who promises her the earth. But, as Lorna finds, life seldom follows the plans you’ve made. A chance photograph on a client’s mobile phone changes everything for her.

When the body of a woman is found in a bath in Brighton, Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is called to the scene. At first it looks an open and shut case with a clear prime suspect. Then other scenarios begin to present themselves, each of them tantalizingly plausible, until, in a sudden turn of events, and to his utter disbelief, the case turns more sinister than Grace could ever have imagined.

Review:

What can you say about a Roy Grace book? You KNOW it will be fast paced, have a few red herrings, be fool of characters you know and love, and feature totally believable situations. This book takes all those characteristics and puts them on speed in this book! The roller coaster never ends, as each time Grace turns around, he has a new suspect and a new direction to look. When other detectives struggle for 1 suspect, Grace has too many. How can they sort thru the chaff and find the real killer. Are the false killers, really false, or are they responsible for a different crime? Grace's head spins, as the reader's will, trying to solve this unsolvable crime! If you're new to the series, this is a brilliant book to jump in on, as it will make you want to go back and read the other 12 asap! So hurry and snag this one for some amazing Summer reading!
